Christmas was as lively as usual here at the Carpenter house. Even though we say EVERY year we're not going to travel all over the tri-state area to fulfill various family obligations, we did it anyway again this year. We spent Christmas Eve and part of Christmas Day at our house with Eli's parents. Then on Christmas Day afternoon, we (meaning 4 adults, 2 kids, 2 bulldogs and a shih tzu) all piled into three (3!) cars to go back to Oklahoma City to spend the following morning with the OKC great grandmas.
After round #2 of festivities were over, Eli loaded up his car that afternoon and headed back to Arkansas while I took the kids and headed south to Austin to see my mom and dad. We had a great time in Texas and we stretched our initial 4-day trip into almost a week.
I finally decided I had procrastinated enough and needed to head home to face the task of organizing, packing and getting our house on the market. Now I've been home a week and all I've managed to do so far is sift through the Christmas pile of gifts, wrapping and assorted messes enough to see my floor again. However, tomorrow is the day.....I plan to get to work in the kids' rooms and pack away at least half of their toys. Less accessible toys=less clutter to keep up with while we sell the house.
Eli started his new job last week in Kansas City and so far, so good. He's living in temporary housing that he says is gloomy, stinky and depressing, but until we can get our house sold and buy another one, he's stuck there for awhile. He likes the work, but doesn't like the cold. He's been working in Phoenix and south Texas for so long, I think his blood must be pretty thin trying to adjust to a midwestern winter season.

Found your blog through fb- Super cute blog! We are just outside of KC, although we are moving to Washington state this summer. There is so much to do in KC, you will love it. Your daughter looks to be about the same age as my Ella. Adorable kids.
