Texas Spring Break

We spent spring break last week in central Texas, soaking up the warm weather and hanging out with my parents. We had a great week and had the chance to see the Roberts and Sties in Dallas on the trip home.

This wasn't just a regular run-of-the-mill trip south though. Eli had to drive his own car and haul a copy machine from Arkansas to his San Antonio office, so I was forced to referee an 8-hour car trip by myself with both kids and dog in tow. It was A LONG day with lots of rest stops to play duck-duck-goose and red light/green light to run down some of their energy. The normal 8 hour trip took me a little more than 10 hours, while Eli managed to clock his best time ever at 7.5 hours.

It was a fun week with lots of time for pictures. I usually have to beg and plead for F to smile for pictures, but this day he decided to humor the paparazzi.

I'm not sure what F's fascination was with this squirrel, but he insisted that it be included in this shot.

We went to a Princess Tea at the local library while we were at Grandma's house. Gloves, hats and your best china cup and saucer were required to attend and E LOVED it!

Later in the week, Grandma and Grandpa were in charge while Eli and I spent a few days in San Antonio. They were very busy and very tired when we came back to relieve them of their babysitting duties.

And of course, what spring trip would be complete without an Easter egg hunt? This event happened about 30 minutes before we got in the car to head home. That might not have been the smartest timing as the kids were sugared up for the first 3 hours of the trip home.

All in all, it was a great trip. The proof in is this picture taken less than an hour after we walked in the door at home.
